A new mother’s arrival unveils dark secrets, igniting betrayal and forbidden love among neighbors in a tense building drama.
Episodes
The images of the bustling metropolis give way to the arrival at São Paulo International Airport of passengers and crew from Tokyo. Shuy Sem says goodbye to another flight attendant who will continue her flight to Rio, while she returns to her apartment in the Paraíso Building, which is being closely watched by police officer Sérgio. The police officer had received complaints from residents of the building that an interceptor had been placed on the telephone communication network and that all conversations were being violated. For this reason, Sérgio decided to closely observe the building. Opposed by the irascible Carmen, Kátia, after her day's work, arranges to meet up with her neighbor, the doctor Orlando, much to the frustration of Dorotéia, who was also counting on that meeting, despite being married to the building's superintendent, Otávio. The building's owner, Edgar, complains to his wife Mafalda about the excesses she has been committing in acquiring jewelry, using illegal means.
Frightened by Otávio's statements, Dorotéia continues to be perplexed by the existence of the interceptor in Paraíso's telephone network. At Kátia's apartment, Shuy Sem expresses her concerns to her friend, saying that she has the impression that she is being followed and watched by a strange man. And while Marta asks Marina to take care of her son, during the meeting the next morning, Edgar begins to arrange furtive meetings with Pilar, although she pretends not to understand. In the midst of this, Gilberto tells Lúcia about the anguish that the strangled São Paulo is experiencing.
Francisco warns Oswaldo to put the car in its place because it was badly parked in the Paraíso garage, while Laís and Mário continue to fight over family issues, especially those related to Carmen, Laís' mother-in-law. When she gets home, Kátia notices Débora passing by, who is identified to her by the kind doorman. And in Marta's apartment, memories begin to overwhelm her: Marta remembers when she told her late husband Henrique that she was pregnant, and thus, in full condition to make the couple's happiness complete.
Sebastião tells Francisco not to worry, because his son Agenor would not be going out that day. At the same time, Marina observes to Rogério that he is getting irritated by the surveillance exercised by the doorman of Paraíso over all the residents of the building. At night, Kátia has a great time at a nightclub, duly accompanied by Orlando.
While Sérgio and Caio continue to draw up their plans to observe the suspicious individuals who frequent or inhabit Paraíso, inside the building, Débora encourages Albertina to recover, Lúcia discusses sociological studies with Gilberto and Mafalda makes observations of worldly life with Edgar. Almost at the same time, Oswaldo and Francisco prepare the lobby for the condominium meeting.
It tells the story of residents of a building in São Paulo, where everyday life is transformed after the arrival of Marta and her son Paulinho, who screams during the night.
