With the loss of Pioran, Fushi went into a self-imposed exile on a deserted island. Finally, 40 years later, Fushi remains alone, save for his black-clad creator, The Observer.
Tonari is attacked by the Nokker on Hisame's arm. Although Fushi later reunites with his old friend, he does not get to spend much time with her as she passes away soon afterward.
Fushi learns from Hayase's sixth successor that the Church of Bennett has declared him a heretic and announced a huge reward for capturing him.
Bonchien continues to offer all his support to Fushi so that he stays in the Uralis Kingdom. However, Fushi's fear of a Nokker attack continues to haunt him but the prince goes a step further by publicly giving him the Best Bonnist Award.
Fushi as he embarks on a long journey with Bonchien and his large army. They eventually reach the Uga Castle where Fushi is requested by the cast-lord Anna to help his daughter who is on her deathbed.
A lonely boy wandering the Arctic regions of North America meets a wolf, and the two become fast friends, depending on each other to survive the harsh environment. But the boy has a history, and the wolf is more than meets the eye as well.
