Episodes
-Christophe L'Allier now works at the Violence Prevention Centre. Yoan, who recently enrolled, did not show up for his second appointment. Christophe calls him when he is in the middle of a crisis. He has just violently shoved his wife, Charlène. His son Noa, the only witness to the assault, goes to the police station with his grandparents, Madeleine and Jean-Pierre. Inspector Fabien Gauthier questions him. Madeleine, who never liked Yoan, contacts the prosecutor Gabrielle Laflamme. With his colleague Roxanne, Christophe reviews the files of the few men who could be brought together for group therapy.
-Christophe and Roxanne lead their first group meeting with, among others, Junior, Marcel, Jonathan and Aziz. Gauthier receives a visit from Lina, who is afraid of her husband, a fellow police officer who reacts very badly to her request for a divorce. Noa has other memories of the attack. He wants to tell everything to the police. Yoan's case becomes more complicated. The latter misses his son a lot. He asks Christophe to find a way to contact him. Gabrielle notices that Charlène persists in excusing her husband. She is indignant of Christophe's efforts to allow Yoan to speak to Noa and lets him know without detour. Christophe is surprised by a visit to the Center of Patrick who gives him the last news of his mother.
-Gabrielle obtains the help of the police officer Morgane Harel to search Yoan's background. Yoan gets a call from his son, Noa, under the supervision of Jean-Pierre and Christophe. In the hope of winning back his wife, Loïc, a young professional of 24 years old, comes to the center, but he does not want to confide in Roxanne. Christophe is looking for a shelter that could take in his mother, who is increasingly losing her autonomy. He manages to find Kevin Bilotta, Yoan's friend who made him fall back into drugs. This one speaks to him about what they lived in adolescence.
-Christophe has found a residence that might be suitable for Edith. With Patrick, he hopes to convince her that it is better for her to move. Loïc comes back to register. Christophe makes sure it is for the right reasons. Charlene is discharged from the hospital and wants to go home, much to her mother's disappointment. Christophe and Roxanne try to get Junior, who has decided to leave the program, to reconsider his decision. Christophe leads Yoan to confide in him a secret that has haunted him for a long time. Patrick falls under Roxanne's spell and wants to invite her to a restaurant.
Yoan's sentencing hearing gets underway. Despite objections, Gabrielle sets out to demonstrate that Yoan's violence is not limited to this one incident. Charlène does her best to justify her husband's behavior during her testimony.
"À coeur battant" revolves around the Centre for the Prevention of Violence (CPV), a community-based organization that works with abusive men.
