Episodes
When a car crashes against a tree, an illegally kept baboon escapes to old farmer Jakob Krämer's barn. After raiding the catering van, the monkey is spotted. Vet Hansen gets the university to send an expert, who turns out to be his former study mate Kajo Winter, who return for personal reasons after running a Kenyan baboon sanctuary. They manage to capture the monkey and prevent the fiend who let it escape from stealing it, even arrest him as Jan sabotages his car.
Having heard about Kaio's vacant baboon rescue station job in Keney, Dr. Philip Hansen dreams of returning to Africa. To his surprise, Helena Brüggeman and Tim Hoppe are all for, but Leonie refuses to leave every friend, animal and thing behind in Waldau. Fresh mayor Josefine keeps annoying husband-predecessor Vincent.
Tim firmly waves cheeky doubts on his fitness to move to Africa, given his arachnophobia. New forester Dina Estili mobilizes the whole gang when tree-parasitic beetles are spotted, who must be found and the tress destroyed before they can affect more of the forest, even at the expense of animal residents like nesting woodpeckers. A phone call confirms Helena gets the Kenyan job, so the Hansen and Brüggemann families plus Tim move to Africa.
It's moving day for the extended Hansen-Brüggemann family, but everything conspires against catching their plane for Keeya. Helena misplaced her passport, Tim keeps packing far too much as 'hand luggage', Philip has to deal with an emergency patient and a parrot trained to bid him farewell. Cookie gets lost, Tim rushes to fix everything but falls, needing stitches. The Waldau mates planned a sendoff party, which gets upgraded.
Kids walking a dog in the forest are shocked to find his paw bloodily caught in a snare-trap. After treating the wound, vet Kajo Winter joins forester Estili searching for the presumed poacher. He and Vincent place game cameras, but the lead to the jogger who was around when the dog was found proves misleading, it's actually the doing of an old farmer.
The Hansen family runs a veterinary practice in the Black Forest. For Greta, her sister Lilie, father Philipp and mother Annette, everything revolves around the four-legged friends who live with them.
