POSSIL GIRLS: "My pals are more important to me than any boy" A thirty minute film giving us life and how to live it according to the Possil Girls. Possil is a housing scheme in the North of Glasgow, notorious across the city but probably unknown unless you live there yourself. Possil Girls takes us on a trip through the streets and closes to find out what you have to do to have a good time. Hanging around in Saracen Street, having a drink, squaring up for a fight, going to the local disco to terrorize male go-go dancers. The film also follows the Possil Girls to the annual Orange Walk that goes through the area. We see at first hand their reaction to the men in the sashes and bowler hats, powerful symbols of authority within their community. In a tough world you can only survive if you have your friends around you. It's the only way that the Possil Girls know how to get along. Director Liz Ingram.
Kashir, Raza and Adie, three Muslim boys from Birmingham, believe that violence and money are inseparable. Money means a smart car and clothes and a particular way of life and these are achieved through the simple philosophy of 'scamming'.
Documentary series looking at young people and crime.
