Dave and Julie meet and fall in love. Dave doesn't know Julie is rich. Julie's father is against their marrying but gives them the gift of two windows. Its very funny and needs to be watched to be appreciated.
Julie and Dave get into an argument over the household budget, which seems to provide for every necessity but one-food.
Dave's boss is coming to dinner. To pick up some quick cash to fix up their apartment Dave takes a job advertising plums where he has to where a metal clanking knight suit and his clothes disappear. He appears at the dinner as a knight.
Problems arise when Dave and Julie buy a brass bed, including a run in with a motorcycle cop.
Dave says he is against the idea of birthday celebrations, but he's secretly delighted when he suspects Julie is planning a surprise party in his honor.
