Mandy has another new job, and Martin is preparing to celebrate his 23rd birthday. Both of them experience fantasies about their situation, only to find that the reality is far less appealing.
A day in the life of Matthew shows him playing rock music in the early hours of the morning, and re-enacting movies during the day, along with questionable activities in Mandy's bedroom. Martin looks for assurances that he's really okay.
Martin's announcement that he's planning to move on and leave the flat produces a series of downward events and disappointments for Matt. Meanwhile, Mandy is suffering from anxiety after a relationship threatens to turn serious.
