Episodes
Boston's own rising star Latrell James performs live at WGBH's Fraser Performance Studio.
Fresh off spending two weeks at a songwriting workshop on Nantucket, Denver-based singer-songwriter Brent Cowles joined us in our Fraser Performance Studio. Cowles achieved minor success with the band You, Me and Apollo then set out on a solo career.
Tanya Donelly (Throwing Muses, Breeders) formed Belly in 1992. Their debut album, Star, went gold propelled by the hit single, Feed the Tree. The group disbanded in 1996, but they reunited in 2016 and released their new album, Dove, this year. A sold out crowd came out on a rainy Tuesday night here in our intimate Fraser Performance Studio to reminisce with the old classics and take in the new.
Singer-songwriter Andrew Marlin and multi-instrumentalist Emily Frantz formed Mandolin Orange in Chapel Hill, NC back in 2009. In the years since they've built a steady and sizable fan base around their unique blend of Americana, bluegrass, folk, gospel, country, and pop. A few hundred fortunate WGBH members got the chance to experience this special performance by Andrew and Emily (along with their full touring band) in our intimate Fraser Performance Studio.
Anjimile performs live at WGBH's Fraser Performance Studio. Anjimile is a Boston-based queer and trans song maker raised in the suburbs of Richardson, Texas. As a first-generation Malawian-American their experiences with racism, homophobia and xenophobia in the deep south helped to form the basis of their politics and music.
Front Row Boston: Live at Fraser is a new series from WGBH and the producers of their Emmy® award winning series Front Row Boston that features intimate concert experiences with the most talented and promising artists, from across a wide range of music genres including Celtic, classical, jazz and rock. Set in the acoustically pristine Fraser Performance Studio at WGBH, and in front of a live audience, the show combines performances by local and national legends, and emerging talents, along with casual conversation in an energetic atmosphere, allowing artists to engage with their audiences all around Boston.
