Another group of teenage recruits go through basic Army training in Harrogate. Rookies Vyse and Johnson grapple with the reality of not seeing their families for 6 weeks and the boys get in trouble during a room inspection.
The members of 7 Platoon must all pass their first live exercise, which means firing a weapon. Allegations of bullying means one junior soldier faces expulsion while another tearful recruit wants to leave.
The platoon travel to Normandy to visit the graves of 4,000 soldiers, leading some to confirm their commitment to serving their country, while others question their future.
For the first time 7 Platoon use live ammunition as they are trained to kill using bullets and bayonets then undergo their toughest physical test to date. Turner is punished for smoking and Fishwick is placed in specialist rehabilitation.
The recruits face a fortnight of tactical exercises for their final stage of training before Graduation Day arrives. But will all the junior soldiers graduate to their chosen regiment?
