Gilberto Gil is ready to embark on a month-long international tour with his family. However, before they even set off, a crisis sparked by his grandson Bento threatens to throw the band's plans out of tune.
It's party day. One of the Gils gets married in Italy. The event moves the older members of the family and entertains the younger ones. In Morocco, the band's instruments disappear and hotel reservations are cancelled.
Arriving in Slovenia, the Gils are accompanied by the rapper Xamã and split up for two drastically different leisure activities. Later in France, the children surprise everyone with their opinions about the tour.
Gilberto Gil visits the largest particle accelerator in the world and goes down in history as the first artist to sing there. In Barcelona, the Gils meet Juliette. As the tour nears its end, a sense of nostalgia overcomes the family.
The tour reaches its final destination, UK. In Liverpool, the Gilsons perform at an iconic venue. As Gil arrives in London, the city he lived in during his exile years and where one of his children was born, memories take over the family.
To celebrate his 80th birthday, Gilberto Gil sets out on an unprecedented tour of Europe and Morocco with 28 family members. Traveling for 36 days through 15 countries, Gil's 7 children, 12 grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.
