There's always more to talk about with Jeremy Irons, and lucky for us, he is back for more On Creativity. Irons is the epitome of the traits actors hold most dear and has always been a generous mentor to SCAD acting students. In recognition of his monumental achievements in acting and longtime friendship, he received the SCAD Etoile Lifetime Achievement in Cinema award at the inaugural SCAD Lacoste Film Festival. While under the Provençal sun, he caught up with Paula Wallace to look back on career highlights, explore some of his most recent films "Munich: The Edge of War" and "House of Gucci," and celebrate their shared commitment to historic preservation and adaptive reuse.
Join Paula Wallace and legendary photographer Ellen von Unwerth on a private walkthrough of her latest exhibition that perfectly captures her iconically vibrant lens. Ellen von Unwerth: This Side of Paradise is on view at the SCAD FASH Museum of Fashion + Film through early 2024.
For decades, Anna Sui has tapped into and helped define youth culture, grunge lifestyle, and rock-n-roll romanticism. Her baby-doll dresses, made iconic by Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, and Christy Turlington, reflected the changing tides ahead of the new millennium. Today, the multi-award-winning legend of fashion still produces all her clothes in NYC's Garment District and maintains the highest quality standards across her many product lines and licenses. She was an honored guest at SCAD Style 2023, from where, Paula Wallace invites us all into the world of Anna Sui.
At the 2023 SCAD Savannah Film Festival, Todd Haynes received the Oustanding Achievement in Directing Award for his latest triumph, 'May December,' starring Julianne Moore and Natalie Portman. During its Savannah and Tybee Island shoot, eighty-eight SCAD students, faculty, and alumni worked on the production in front of and behind the camera. In today's interview, Paula Wallace reflects with Haynes on the experience of the production, how this film fits into his legendary career, and his philosophy as a leader onset.
Rachel Feinstein poignantly blurs the lines of how we interact with art through her paintings, sculptures, and performances. She seeks to invite the audience beyond the finished product and see glimpses of the artist's process. Her exhibitions have a theatrical experience to them and are beautiful displays of the many sides of an artist who's been a model, a filmmaker, a performer, and a researcher. At SCAD deFINE ART 2023, Feinstein unveiled her exhibition "Façade" at the SCAD Museum of Art. This awe-inspiring exhibit features panoramas, wall reliefs, and large-scale sculptures from across her decades-long career. Join Paula Wallace as the two reflect on where Feinstein's creativity emanates and her many intersections with other art forms.
On Creativity is a SCAD original interview series featuring conversations with visionaries in art, design, and entertainment, hosted by SCAD President and Founder Paula Wallace.
