Liz Sandler joins her new high school's audiovisual club where she embarks on a mission to create a full-fledged news studio, but their first broadcast does not at all go as planned.
After an embarrassing photo of Liz makes the school paper, she is forced to avoid the spotlight, but Becca believes she is trying to steal her thunder. When Cassie fails to meet the Editor-in-Chief's standards she decides to interview Rob.
A fine levied against Cassie puts the drama club at risk of being shuttered, so she and Liz attempt to solicit donations before Becca suggests they broadcast a school talent show to raise the money they need to help Cassie pay the fine.
An exchange student named Rebecca comes to Sunnybrook and quickly raises the original Becca's ire, as she thinks she will be replaced as the most popular girl in the school. Cassie and Tyler have an opportunity to help Rex save the paper.
