The first circus decided to wait out the winter in Hugo, Oklahoma in 1941. Since then, 22 circuses have called Hugo home. After the final curtain, "Showman's rest," an elaborate cemetery plot with headstones carved for clowns, elephant trainers and snake charmers.

In 1947 he realized his dream when he was elected to serve alongside John Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, and Richard Nixon.
