Todor, the owner of a winery in the region of Sandanski has died. He has no successors, but his sister, which has been living for years in USA. Todor's nephew Filip and his wife Marta, come from California to attend the funeral. They do not intend to stay long in Bulgaria. A secret buyer has made an offer to buy the winery. Filip meets the personnel when he arrives - the oenologist Elina, his old friend Nasko, sales director Kiryakov, old Slavi, Peyo. Andrey also comes to the winery - he is a cowboy, that behaves like a madman on the road. He is chairman of the municipality council and apparently a man with power. Filip discovers that his uncle's wines are not offered in the renowned restaurants in the region. His childhood friend Nasko slips on a wet floor and breaks his ankle, and Elina takes care of the winery. Filip tries to find who is behind the bid for the troubled winery. It turns out that it is Andrey, who had been helping Todor financially. Meanwhile, the device used to analyze the wine has been stolen.
Filip is not rushing to sell the winery. He thinks that the price is too low. He wants to offer some of the production in hotels in Sandanski. He succeeds. This way he establishes how good of an oenologist Elina is. The police come to investigate the theft of the $30000 device. In the municipal council there are discussions for a raise in taxes for the use of vineyards located on municipal land. With a procedure twist, Andrey, achieves a rejection of the proposal. He is married to Tsveta, who is a senior nurse, that he is always neglects. It turns out that his lover is manager of the restaurant that had been rejecting to offer Todor's wines. Marta goes to Andrey and tells him that his claims are paltry. Filip intends to stabilize the winery and to sell it later. From a picture in Andrey's office, Marta realizes that Elina is his daughter and tells it to her husband Filip. In a telephone conversation with his mother Zoya, Filip tells her that the buyer is Andrey.
Marta persuades Filip to let go of the winery, but he has decided to restore it and sell it after that. He gathers the personnel and offers to pay them now and they leave, or they stay and he will pay them later. All but Peyo leave, who stays because of Elina. Andrey takes his wife Tsveta to the restaurant FIlip had sold from the Chardonnay of the winery. Andrey is talking on his cellphone all the time, and Tsveta leaves without telling him. Andrey tells the restaurant's owner that the wine is not good and convinces him to cancel future shipments, in exchange for help in the municipal council with a building permit. The restaurant return the shipment and Marta fires Elina, knowing that her father is behind all the trouble. Filip and Marta are looking at some old photographs and are trying to figure out the past of Filip's family and his grandmother Viola, who are from the region. They come closer with grandfather Stank, who is guarding the vineyard near the old mill. He tells them about the past of the winery, and that Todor, Filip's uncle had been taking care of it since the 90's of XX century. Elina goes to her father Andrey in the municipal council, to tell him she is fired. He is still busy, but she follows him to an apartment. Andrey gets a call from a representative of a Russian named Titov. Andrey had taken 1 million euros from him in exchange for a hotel complex on the place of the winery. While driving the winery company car, Filip discovers that there is a corpse in the trunk.
Police has arrested Filip for poaching. He is taken to the police department and is under custody for 72 hour. Grandfather Stanko sees the arrest and tells Marta, who goes to Andrey for help. He laughs at her. She does not know what to do. They put a boy in Filip's cell. He is a son of Harizanov - a local big guy and a sponsor of the police. All people respect him. Filip gets the information that Andrey Bonchev and Harizanov don't get along . The boy quickly becomes friends with Filip. Andrey's wife Tsveta, has gone missing and is not answering her cellphone. Andrey fears that Titov has abducted his wife. Andrey does not want assistance from the police boss, because he will owe him. Harizanov orders Filip to be set free. Andrey hears that Filip will be selling the winery to Harizanov. Elina makes a copy of a key from the apartment that her father has been visiting. When she enters it, she discovers a hotel project on the spot of the winery. She demands an explanation from her father, who comforts her that the winery will not disappear and that she will be in charge of everything. Elina returns home. She is living with a friend named Antonia, who unknowingly to her is her father's mistress. At dawn there is frost. Elina wakes up Filip and together with Nasko and all the others from the winery they start fires in order to save the vines from freezing. Filip gives Elina her job back, but his spouse Marta leaves without telling a word.
Resentful of her father for his plans about the winery, Elina does not see the larger family issues. She gets an offer for a new job and makes plans in front of her roommate Antonia. Filip feels hopeless, but provoked by his old friend Nasko, goes hunting with Harizanov and succeeds in getting a loan from him, in order to patch the situation with salaries at the winery. Andrey discovers Tsveta in a monastery with sister Pelagia. He does not understand her feelings, and Tsveta decides to take care of herself. Elina is terrified to find that her friend Antonia and father had been lovers.
