Jackie and Tara employ an age-old asset for getting ahead - sex. Only this time, it's with women! After running into their former lesbian neighbors, Jackie and Tara pretend to be a couple in order to get a new car for Tara. Upon initiation into a secret "Mel's Angeles" club, Jackie finds herself an object of lesbian affection that leads to a great business opportunity. Can the twosome pull off being more than friends?
Mary Kay Place guest stars as Jackie's mother, Jeanette, who is visiting from North Carolina at a pivotal moment in Jackie's career as a fledgling screenwriter. Jeanette accompanies Jackie and Tara to an important film convention, where the two struggle to land their big break. Jackie juggles career advice from her overbearing mother and astrologically-obsessed former agent, while Tara gets a big career boost after Jackie talks her out of a meltdown.
Tara is in charge in bringing in creativity for three-15 second episodes based on Chimps that will be aired on cell phones. Jackie gets dragged into the creative writing and Tara meets a new man at work, Brad, who always seems to spread bad luck wherever he goes, which lands Tara in the emergency room.
Jackie falls for Kip (Tom Stern), a guy who lives life on the edge and takes Jackie along for a wild ride. Meanwhile, Tara falls for Josh, the perfect millionaire man, but is unable to perform in the bedroom. Have Jackie and Tara found their perfect match or will it end in self destruction?
