1399. Two months after the death of Queen Jadwiga. King Jagiello is in mourning. The nobles remind him that he must remarry to stay on the Polish throne.
The nobles find the king in Lithuania and ask him to return to Poland on the condition that he will marry Anna of Cilii, whom Queen Jadwiga had chosen for his wife on her deathbed.
King Jagiello initially refuses the nobles and decides to stay in Lithuania, where he tries to reconcile his brother Duke Svidrigaila with their cousin Vytautas, whom he titled Grand Duke of Lithuania. Then he decides to return to Poland.
1400/1401. Polish envoys arrive in the county of Cilli and ask Count Herman for the hand of his niece Anna for King Jagiello. Anna rebels, but eventually arrives in Krakow. She does not make a good impression on the king.
Jagiello does not want to marry Anna of Cilli, because the girl is nothing like Queen Jadwiga, whom he loved. Anna sneaks into the late queen's chambers and puts her gown on, enraging the king.
Period telenovela set in XIV century Poland. After King Wladyslaw the Elbow-high's death his only surviving son ascends the throne as King Casimir III.
