In the late 1960s law enforcement discover a pattern of murdered hitchhikers and young men. Their investigation led them to an unassuming aerospace engineer Patrick Kearney, who lived a double life as a sadistic killer.
With Kearney behind bars, police realize another predator is on the loose. An investigation leads to "The Freeway Killer" and his torture chamber on wheels. The clues suggest William Bonin also had accomplices.
Law enforcement hopes the nightmare is over, until another wave of freeway murders shattered their illusion. Randy Kraft was the most methodical of them all and, if not for a random police check, he might have evaded police.
During the early 1970s, many men were brutally killed, and their bodies were found along Southern California. Law enforcement officials were shocked to learn there were three different men responsible.
