Wu opens a tea shop to help with his retirement and asks the ninja to help him advertise it. Lloyd is asked to go on a solo mission, but discovers that it is a trap set by a cursed spirit named Morro that has escaped from the Cursed Realm.
Wu reveals that the spirit that has taken over Lloyd's body was of his first pupil, the Master of Wind. The ninja then embark on a mission to save Lloyd. Wu and Misako tell Nya she holds a power she never knew about.
The ninja arrives in Stiix to find Ronin, who has the Scroll of Airjitzu. However, Morro is also on the hunt for the scroll and isn't too far behind.
Morro has the scroll. The Ninja find a new way to learn Airjitzu by visiting the Haunted House of Sensei Yang. Nya doubts she is the Water ninja, so Ronin takes her to Souri Cave.
Now that the ninja know Airjitzu, they prepare to hunt for the second clue to the tomb. They must embark to Cloud Kingdom and retrieve the Sword of Sanctuary. It's a race against Morro and his ghostly allies to get to Cloud Kingdom before the gateway passes.
When the fate of their world, Ninjago, is challenged by great threats, it's up to the ninja: Kai, Jay, Cole, Zane, Lloyd and Nya to save the world.
