Madrid, 1934. Influenced by her family and, trying to save her father's factory, Amelia Garayoa marries Santiago, a wealthy businessman. Everything changes the day she meets Pierre, a young communist who will make her rethink her life.
Buenos Aires, 1936. With the help of the opera star Carla Alessandrini, Amelia will settle in the city. After discovering an event that will change her plans for the future, she meets Max, a German general whom she befriends.
Amelia and Pierre arrive in Russia. After a while, things start to go wrong and Anushka gets Amelia an important job; the arrival of a journalist friend is key for Amelia woman survival.
After leaving Moscow and returning to Madrid, Amelia has to look for some way to save her family; the victory of Francoism triggers a persecution against the republicans supporters.
Berlin, 1939. Driven by her firm beliefs against Nazism, Amelia accepts an offer to work for the British government; this decision forces her to confront her own values.
