Five single women and five single men who are prepared to discover love and embark on the journey of a lifetime aboard the Regal Princess Cruise Ship are welcomed by hosts Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O'Connell as the ship sets sail. The singles must perform well in a talent presentation in the first competition of the season after making their way around Barcelona, a beautiful city, to win over possible partners. But when two new men join the ship and interrupt a cocktail party, everything is not as it seems. In the closing Sail Away Ceremony, the women each select one person who has captured their attention and will stay aboard the ship, while the others will "Shove Off" and be left at port. The proverbial cocktail shaker is passed to the new Crew who will aid singles in navigating romance on the high seas by special guest actor Ted Lange, whose legendary character Isaac helped singles find love on the original 1970s scripted series "The Love Boat."
The new couples arrive in Gibraltar and face their first challenge: racing up a mountain while answering personal questions about their romantic history.
New arrivals make waves as the ship pulls into Marseille in the South of France. The couples arrive at a luxury soap maker's lavender field, they lather each other with a bar of soap to uncover the gold coin hidden inside.
The woman are blindfolded and challenged to pick the man they are most attracted to by using their other senses, ON "THE REAL LOVE BOAT."
The couples are challenged to put their relationship on a pizza platter in Naples and two new women come aboard the ship to turn heads before the men choose who will continue the journey on The Real Love Boat.
It is a reality competition series based on the '70s series that took place on Princess Cruises ships.
