Episodes
Denny and his girlfriend Jill plan a quiet romantic evening at home. After doing a little partying, Blashe decides he can't drive, so he walks to Denny's to crash there. Contrary to Jill's opinion, Denny feels he can't turn his friend away and allows him to sleep on the couch. Things go haywire when Blashe decides he can't sleep and decides to look for something to eat.
Blashe meets a new girl (Mindy) at a coffee shop drive-thru. He asks her out on a date, but requests the presence of his buddy Denny Brown for support. Denny convinces his girlfriend Jill Martin to come along on a double date with Blashe and his new found love, Mindy. The night starts with preparations at Denny's and continues to their favorite hang out and steak house (Roudigan's) where there aren't too many fans of the new affectionate couple. This episode also introduces characters Sal Mastriano and waiter Herm Dunbar to the regular cast.
Sal gives Blashe's dad Simon a send off at Roudigan's since Simon has decided to move to meet his lady in Hawaii. Blashe confronts Denny's girlfriend Jill about fashion creating a confrontation that leads to Denny and Jill taking a break. Blashe spends the episode finding ways to fix his mistake. He is also knee deep in day dreams about how he unrealistically thinks Denny and Jill perceive him as a friend.
Denny, Sal and Blashe meet for a drink at Roudigan's where Denny persuades his buddy Blashe to join him for a therapy session at Dr. Rudolph Montgomery's ranch. Blashe thinks he is there for support until it is reveal that the therapy is really for him.
This is a story about two guys who grew up together; Denny Brown and Blashe Richter. Blashe is hard to take for most people as he is usually inappropriate, awkward and a little over the top. Denny and his sister Pam are not only the two who "get" Blashe, but they tolerate his tendencies because he has been around since they were just kids. Blashe is a single child to single father Simon Richter. Simon is a bit over protective and elaborate so it doesn't take long to see that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Denny's girlfriend Jill doesn't get it. She feels it's time to cut ties with Blashe and has had just about enough of his antics. Sal is a close friend of Denny's and he is pretty indifferent about Blashe. For the most part, whichever side he is in the mood to fall; he falls.
