The show revolves around the adventures of a 4 Year old girl named Masha and a Bear who always keeps her away from disasters and having fun along with their animal friends. One day Masha stumbles upon a Bears house in a forest, she doesn't hesitate to go in the house, when the Bear comes back to his home. He is shocked to see a young girl messing around in house, the Bear tries to kick her out but Masha doesn't leave. Instead the nice and smart Bear befriends Masha and the two become best friends.
Far away in a little house by the railroad lives a little and a very restless girl called Masha. She loves to play so much that all other animals don't share her enthusiasm and always hide from her. One day she is fed up with it and flees into the forest. There she finds a cozy-looking house that belongs to the Bear, who at this moment just gone fishing. Upon his return, he discovers his lovely house in shambles.
The autumn has arrived. The Bear prepares for his winter bedtime by barricading himself from Masha inside the house. But the little girl manages to find her way indoors and causes yet another mess by awakening a whole swarm of bees. But all her games eventually stop and when the Bear cooks some porridge to feed the child, he discovers her fallen asleep.
The Bear adores New Year's Eve so much that he wakes up just to celebrate this holiday. He cleans his house, decorates the Christmas tree and waits for the Father Frost to come. But Masha arrives instead and the holiday turns into a disaster: the tree burns down, the decorations break and Father Frost gets into a car accident. The forest inhabitants can be left without presents. But Masha and the Bear do their best to fix the situation and they celebrate New Year like never before.
First snow falls and the Bear decides to teach Masha how to distinguish the tracks of different animals. Masha is quite far from being a good student and brings the poor Bear almost to madness. But to his great surprise it turns out that some of her answers were not as absurd as they seemed.
A retired circus bear settles into the woods and prepares for a quiet new life surrounded by peace and tranquility until he is introduced to an adventurous little girl named Masha.
