Twilight discovers a strange comet headed right for Equestria, making her freak out; Fluttershy wants a good bit of footage for the news, and teams up with Pinkie for some crystal capturing.
With the comet approaching, Rarity throws a festival to watch its arrival, but it keeps being late; Rarity plans to give everyone at the festival special glasses to see the full colors of the comet, but has trouble finding them.
A mysterious balloon-like object emerges and brings with it many bubbles, making the Mane 6 speculate on what could be inside; a magical artifact from one of the bubbles forces ponies to tell the truth.
Applejack finds a new plant friend that's a lot of trouble to care for; Spike finds a bubble wand which makes bubbles that don't seem to want to pop, even with the mane 6 inside.
The mane 6 decide to put objects representing their friendship in a time capsule; Applejack and Rarity are stuck in the old cowpony days, and must prove they're worthy of AJ's hat to return.
