Family and friends of Danielle Marzejka and her boyfriend, Seren Bryan search desperately for the young couple who have been missing for days. Danielle's brother, Kevin calls 9-1-1 after he and his father, Robert, find what they believe are bodies stuffed into large black garbage bags in their shed. A series of shocking discoveries lead to a multi-state manhunt, involving Michigan and Ohio Police Departments as well as the U.S. Marshals. When investigators finally do track down the person responsible, all involved, from family to law enforcement to the perpetrator themselves, are left numb in a state of shock.

Kalamazoo, Michigan police dispatch receive multiple 9-1-1 calls after shots are heard in the early morning hours of July 25, 2017. Multiple units are called to the scene. First responders find the shooter has fled and administer first aid to a victim, clinging to life in a liquor store parking lot. Once stabilized, the man is brought to a nearby hospital, however, doctors are unable to save him and he dies on the operating table. A homicide investigation begins, where detectives' first lead shocks investigators to the point where a SWAT team is called in to conduct a search warrant.
