Recently widowed, Edie tries (and fails) to kill herself. Edie's daughter Kate flies her out to Australia to live closer to her long-emigrated family. For Edie, dumped in a sunny retirement village, it's a fate worse than death.
Free-spirited Pamela enters Edie's life, forcing her to see things differently. Meanwhile, Kate is suspended from work while the death of one of her patients is investigated.
Art has gone missing and Oberon is lovesick. Edie ignites the passions of a married man and Kate crosses a line.
Kate clashes with Oberon's father over his future. Pamela takes Edie on an adventure and Edie tells her a secret.
