Martin presents himself, a fun-loving advanced cooking amateur and surfer, as well as his trusted camper-van, which he feels awards maximal freedom. He starts his tour of Britain in Devon, his home country. An aristocratic friend allows him access to the family castle's equally gorgeous private beach. After surfing with locals, he treats them to an inventively cooked dinner of fresh-caught mackerel with herbs, some collected from the wild.
