Nadia Mönning, the wife of a renowned Lübeck heart surgeon, surprises a burglar in her home. She confronts the man with a gun and is about to call the police when the burglar reveals himself. It is Nadia's physiotherapist, Kai Thieme. At that moment, Nadia's terminally ill father-in-law, Horst Mönning, arrives, wanting to rush to her aid. Hours later, Finn and Lars enter the doctor's residence. Nadia Mönning has called the police and states that her father-in-law suffered a cardiac arrest at the sight of the burglar. The elderly man suffered severe lung disease and was dependent on an oxygen machine. The new detective, Tomke Jenssen, arrives at the crime scene. She is to replace Schroeter on the team, who has retired after his serious injury. At the sight of the corpse, Tomke, who comes from the fraud unit in Kiel and has no experience with dead people, almost faints. But then she makes an important discovery at the crime scene: There must have been a power outage in the house, because some clocks are 43 minutes slow. But why did no one notice? And what does the power outage have to do with Horst Mönning's death?
