An abandoned corpse is identified to be a famous movie star and the news gains huge publicity. In the past, a beautiful young girl, Velonie, has her interests torn between her secret love, Tony, and her jealous fiancé, Vignesh.
The murder investigation gains steam as sub-inspector Vivek is assigned to the case. Vivek suspects Vignesh and Tony. He links the place, Ottaparai, to the murder. Velonie instantly warms up with an elderly novelist, Ki Sebastian.
Vivek takes the three sons of the old lady for an enquiry based on a tip off given by Dr Paulraj, the autopsy doctor. Based on Vignesh's call records and a discussion with Velonie's friend, Vivek suspects Vignesh again.
The police pins the murder on Vignesh and closes the case. There is a public backlash against the police for their hasty conclusion. Vivek wants to do justice to the victim. Jones, the mansion help, gives a lead about Velonie.
