Louise Louvion, a teenager, is found dead near the nightclub of her father, Alain. Judge Filiponi and his intern Constance Meyer question her friends and her boyfriend, Boris Vergniaud. The father wants to take revenge of the assassin, but Louise's stepfather suspects that Alain and Louise had a suspicious relationship, rather than father and daughter.

A woman is found drowned in the swimming pool of a mansion for sale. Her name was Ingrid Montauban and worked in a real estate agency. The main suspects are her colleagues: Ingrid had just joined the company and had become the most successful saleswoman in the firm.

The Palace of Justice is in an uproar over the death of Judge Claire Delaunay, whose remains were found at the foot of the cliffs near her home. Preliminary investigation eliminate suicide or an unfortunate accident. Although he is in a state of shock, Judge Filiponi asks Prosecutor Clément to take over the case, citing the inexperience of the judge on duty. Constance is suspicious of his attitude and is not mistaken. Filiponi keeps a secret that may compromise the case: he had a romantic relationship with the deceased. He is suspicious of her husband, Paul, 42, because the marriage had reconciled only six months ago. Otherwise, Meyer thinks the murder could be related to an ongoing case. Judge Filiponi confesses her that he received a call from Claire asking for help.

Victor Jaquetti is found dead in his refinery, apparently after falling from one of the tanks, but his family and employees had reasons to desire his death.
