In the midst of a monotonous period of protective isolation, Zac is pleasantly surprised when Mia, his new neighbor on the oncology floor, turns out to be nothing like he'd expected.
Mia delays her first chemotherapy treatment to accommodate an important visitor on Valentine's Day, and later, in the dark of a long day's night, Zac does what he can to bring a smile to her face.
A surprise visit from Zac's best friend Cam serves as the reality check that Zac doesn't need, and on the other side of the wall, Mia inquires about the voice behind her late night lullaby.
As things are looking up, an unexpected guest arriving at just the wrong time leaves Zac feeling hopeless.
Zac lets Mia in on his private hobby, and ultimately brightens up her otherwise lonesome night in the hospital.
