Ash and Pikachu landed in the Kalos Region. They try to get into the Lumiose City gym but are kicked out due to not having four badges.
Ash brings an injured Froakie to Professor Sycamore's lab to help treat it. Team Rocket infiltrates the lab to mind control the Garchomp there, which causes it to go on a rampage in Lumiose City.
Ash registers himself into the Kalos League. Then he and his friends encounter a Fletchling and battles it with his new Pokémon, Froakie.
