Tilda (Morgan Taylor Campbell), Juan (Iñaki Godoy), and Abbi (Rhianna Jagpal) are the titular imperfect test subjects of a genetic experiment. They start experiencing strange symptoms and turn to geneticist Dr. Alex Sarkov for help.
In order to find Dr. Sarkov, the Imperfects look for others who participated in the genetic experiment.
The Imperfects meet another participant and it does not go as planned. An unexplained woman seems to be looking for the Imperfects.
Juan spends time with his brother and niece. Tilda and Abbi meet with another experimental subject. Investigators with badges start looking for the Imperfects.
Abbi stays at the lab while Juan and Tilda follow a lead on Dr. Sarkov. Abbi meets with Hannah and discovers that Dr. Burke may be in danger from Isabel Finch.
After an experimental gene therapy turns them into monsters, three twenty-somethings band together to hunt down the scientist responsible and force him to make them human again.
