A con artist family navigates luxury and deception, risking everything as their past threatens to unravel their new life.
Episodes
The Malloys are a distantly ethnic Irish/Gypsy family of traveling con artists (called 'Travlers') which make up of the patriarch Wayne, his jail bird wife Dahlia, and their three children/con-artists-in-training; headstrong Di Di, troubled Cael, and the cross-dressing Sam. After Dahlia is paroled from prison for serving time for petty robbery and larceny, Wayne tries to get money through his cousin Dale who lives at a Traveler's camp, but gets turned down. After ripping off Dale and his family, the Malloys take to the road in their RV trailer when, through a set of unusual circumstances, they witness a car accident and out of the blue, Wayne gets the family to assume the identities of the victim family, the Riches. The Malloys, posing as the Riches, move into a wealthy suburban neighborhood located in Louisiana, only to find that a glamorous life of settling down entails more than they expected.
Forced to look for a job to support his family's new lifestyle of impersonating the Riches, Wayne tries to scam his new neighbor, Hugh Panetta, into giving him a job at his law firm. Meanwhile, Dale is still hunting for the Malloys and the discovery of the car crash puts him back on their tail.
Wayne begins work at his new job at Hugh's law firm, where his first assignment is to fire the current head of the department. Meanwhile, Dahlia insists on registering the kids at a rich private school despite the fact that there are currently no openings. Elsewhere, Dale uses his influence over Tammy, Cael's girlfriend, to track down the Malloys.
The real Doug Rich's ex-wife jeopardizes the Malloys' cover when she comes after "Doug" for missed alimony payments and Wayne has to try to avoid meeting her face to face. Meanwhile, DiDi falls for a neighborhood buffer, and Cael finds a way to capitalize on his unusual skills at school. Also, Dahlia's pill addiction continues to worsen and now threatens to tear the family apart.
Discovering the demands of his new job, Wayne has to clean up after one of HughÂ's shady land-grabs, while a bored Dahlia figures out ways to amuse herself in Eden Falls. Meanwhile, Ginny moves in on the unsuspecting Malloys.
A family of crooks assume the identity of an upper-middle-class suburban clan in the Deep South.
