Eleven teams of two people travel from downtown Los Angeles, California to Valparaiso, Chile, where they battle exhaustion, and have to face their fear of heights in one of the most daunting Road Blocks ever.
The ten remaining teams stay in Chile as they travel from Valparaiso to Puerto Varas. When one person encounters a moody cow at the Road Block, it becomes a recipe for pain.
The nine remaining teams travel from Puerto Varas, Chile to Bariloche, Argentina. Some people become physically exhausted at one of the Detour choices, while at the other option, others find it mentally challenging to follow directions in a search for buried loot.
The eight remaining teams travel from Bariloche, Argentina to Hamburg, Germany. For the first time, two people from different teams have to join forces and work together at the Road Block.
In the rest period, a bus takes the eight teams from Hamburg, Germany to an unknown location in France, from where they travel to Massiges and find that their nerves are tested by a re-enactment of the First World War at the Detour. When a Blind U-Turn comes into play, one team finds that their cocky attitude may cost them dearly.
Multiple teams race around the globe for $1,000,000 to 'amazing' locations.
