The motivation with school truly lacks and honestly... there seemed to be no silver lining? Will Lux drop out and work full time to help her mom and her little sisters? Will she give a side eye to her so-called friends who talk behind her back about her failing classes as if they have a clue about her life? Stay tuned to see what will happen in Home vs economics.
Dance aka tear it up class is the most popular period in the school. You literally must audition just to get into this class. PERIODT. So prior experience is a must. But when one girl gets in and comes as a huge surprise to all the other students, an issue arises. The girls all think clowning on Senegalia is cool because her coordination is completely off. They don't realize dancing is the only thing keeping her from burning out a short fuse quickly. She has loved dancing since she was a little girl. Her love for dance is beyond the sky, stars and moon above. The abuse has just got to stop. We all have our time to shine and it just so happens Senegalia no longer wants to wait for someone to hand it to her. She's planning on grabbing it. But will the tormenting send her off the deep end? You'll have to wait and see.
Self-esteem aka walk in your purpose class. This is a college prep class that teaches girls/guys how to love themselves. Everybody's in this class, all the most "popular girls" who have it all including the best outfits, Natural beautiful Curls and melanin drippin. Dime piece bodies and all the boys are feelin' them. But one girl in particular by the name of Nyika lacks all of these things. Including a love of her body image. This is a huge issue in her life. Moroccia, NamiBia and Tanzania all are great friends but Nyika aka Nikki struggles with her body and the way that she views herself. But mostly how others view her. It's prom season, which means everybody is getting asked out left and right, and that perfect dress seems like it is a lifetime away to find with Nikki's tiny body. Everyone has one thing; I mean something going for them. But Nikki feels like she is dreadfully stuck in this body that no one seems to notice or care for including herself.
Music Mayhem!!. This class is Lit. Everyone can blow. But the teacher can't help but assign every solo to the same chick for every school event. All the other girls are starting to notice and get a bit jealous. More and more this new semester has started, and all the attention goes towards Sahara. The thought of having talent but not being able to use it is disheartening and ultimately a complete letdown. Everyone likes Sahara and they all enjoy hearing her harmonious voice. But when will their time come to "shine bright like a diamond?" Sahara aka "Ms. Songbird" is overwhelmed and would love the opportunity to share the spotlight, but will that jeopardize the potential full-ride scholarship to Howard University!!??
Study hall... Womp womp womp... No one truly comprehends the importance of study hall. The opportunity to be vulnerable and have the openness to ask for help and discuss any lack of understanding with schoolwork is frightening to most. Since chicks like to clown, everyone tends to fall back on asking questions in Ms. Meditations class. Zambia would rather throw a few coins at Morrocia or simply just punk her in order to stay ahead of the game to do her work. Morrocia is tired of it, she has had enough. She's speaking every little thing on her mind at all cost. No one will be able to stop her.
