Neku finds himself in an alternate, otherworldly Shibuya that is inhabited by monsters and has somehow become a Player in the Reaper's Game. As a Player, he will need to team up with others to complete the Game's missions or face erasure.
Entering the 4th day of the Reapers' Game, Neku begins to learn more about his partner, Shiki, as well as the reason behind why they are Players in the Game.
Neku learns that Players are people that are dead, but he struggles to remember how he died. As the Game nears its end, Neku and the others will have to try complete their last missions carefully if they want to be brought back to life.
Neku survived The Reaper's Game but Shiki got resurrected instead. Now Neku has to survive 7 days again with a new partner Joshua.
Neku and Joshua sets out to the cafe where Mr. Hanekoma is at. And Neku starts to realize how did he died.
An asocial teenager, Neku Sakuraba, mysteriously finds himself a part of the Reapers' Game, and must make allies to complete the game's missions if he wants to survive.
