With new show host, Cat Deeley, the judges/choreographers critique each auditioning dancer in New York City and Charleston.
Dance auditions held at the historic Orpheum theater in Los Angeles. Some get tickets to go straight to Las Vegas, while others stick around to learn choreography. However, most are sent home, rejected.
Dance auditions in Chicago at The Legendary Chicago Theater.
Over 100 contestants, staying at the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas, battle it out to make it to the top 20. They have to get through Shane Sparks', Mia Michaels', and Brian Friedman's choreography.
The final 10 guys and 10 girls are chosen to go to Los Angeles and compete on stage live. One dancer gets disqualified.
Qualified dancers from ballroom and ballet to salsa, jive and hip-hop all compete to be named the best.
