Nuan returns to Shanghai after working in London for seven years. Upon returning home, she takes a job as executive assistant to the CEO of a budding tech firm, which belongs to her Ex-boyfriend.
Nuan adjusts to her duties as Nanxian's assistant, while maintaining the ruse of being Linlu's girlfriend. Rou and Nuan have their first in-depth conversation since Nuan's return. Nuan gets placed in charge of preparing the company to receive an important client, but an unbeknownst and envious co-worker intends to be of little help as possible.
Xintong's attempt to embarrass Nuan nearly leads to the casualty of an important client for Shalllow Cosmos. Linlu has growing troubles with his Uncle and cousin who work under him at Dai Zhong. An internal investigation is launched to determine if Xintong was responsible for the near-fatal culinary mishap, and must face severe consequences if found guilty.
Xintong gets demoted for her conduct. Yi Xin again bumps into a familiar face "Mr. Pan" who is an avid admirer. Nanxian insists on Nuan accompanying him to a charity function to represent Shallow Cosmos and pays for her to buy a fancy new dress. However, his intent becomes unclear when he arrives at the function with Yi Xin.
Yi Xin reflects on her past with Nuan and her unrequited affection for Nanxian. By chance, she meets an unlikely ally in Xintong who makes it known that she can make trouble for Nuan. Shallow Cosmos and Dai Zhong bid for a client in London, giving Nuan and Naxian a chance to reconnect outside of work.
After seven years of separation, a man and a woman struggle to rebuild their relationship while working together.
