Xiang Yuan, a popular game streamer is going to work for Weilin, and promises to increase the company's revenue by 10% to escape her marriage proposal's.
Li Yong Biao introduces Xiang Yuan to Xu Yan Shi, while Manager Li Qing tries to stir up trouble, announcing that Xiang is here to replace Xu's position. Xiang Yuan immediately understands Xu's difficult situation and instinctively feels the need to protect him. Li Qing brings up the issue of frequent complaints regarding inaccuracies, but Xu Yan Shi deflects the problem by citing the lack of funding for field surveys.
Xiang Yuan is questioned by her colleagues for taking leave so soon after joining the company, Xu Yan Shi proves that Xiang was working during the trip and resolves the issue. Later, Xu invites Xiang to a celebration with their old school friends. After her original hesitation, she attends, and she and Xu reminisce about their high school days. Xu wishes Xiang the best in getting what she wants.
In a flashback to their school days, Xu Yan Shi and Xiang Yuan take a bike ride and run into their friend, Feng Jun. Xiang Yuan remembers her heartbreak when, as a teenager, she invited Yan Shi to her birthday party, but he declined. At Velin, despite (or in defiance of) office politics, Xiang Yuan pushes ahead with a project for Mingxiong Electronics and encourages everyone to complete the order that evening. Her team elects to go a dinner party instead, and only Zhang Jun stays behind to help her.
Determined to straighten out the situation, Xiang Yuan tracks down Mingxiong's Huang Qiming and manipulates him into a dinner meeting. Huang Qiming insults Xu Yan Shi in various ways, mocking him as incompetent. Playing along, Xiang Yuan agrees, but this is witnessed - and recorded - by Ying Yin Yin, who is drinking at a dinner party next door. She immediately sends the video to Xu Yan Shi, who has just arrived at the same restaurant when it lands in his phone. So he's able to watch in person as Xiang Yuan bids farewell to Huang Qiming.
