Chen Yu helps investigate a murder that is tied into drugs. Chen Yu transfers back into the narcotics division and has to face the consequences of what happened three years ago. He finds evidence that Wu Zhen Feng has returned and Chen Yu tries to tie the new case to the old case from three years ago.
Chen Yu starts to suspect Captain Lin may be a dirty cop and tries to arrest some drug dealers by bypassing his authority. During the bust a drug dealer dies and another escapes. Chen Yu reveals what happened with Wu Zhen Feng three years ago.
Chen Yu recalls how he got separated from Wu Zhen Feng three years ago. The police learn of another drug deal and prepare to catch them. Wu Zhen Feng shows up at the scene of the transaction and Chen Yu gives chase. Wu Zhen Feng then surrenders to the police.
Lan An Ran finds evidence that Wu Zhen Feng made the phone call to the police, but then discovers something alarming about another police officer. Wu Zhen Feng tells what happens with the murder victim, and the police look for evidence to collaborate his alibi. Wu Zhen Feng gives a clue, but hints that the police won't find anything, so Chen Yu decides to check out the clue with some other officers.
Chen Yu and Lan An Ran come to an agreement that someone is tipping off the drug dealers. They tell Yang Yi and decide to go check it out on their own. Something goes wrong and luckily the police arrive in time to back them up. The three officers get in trouble for not following procedures. They find out that Wu Zhen Feng was framed for murder.
Five years ago, Wu Gang was killed by a drug trafficking organization named "K", and his son Wu Zhen Feng was expelled from the police force. Utterly dissipated, Wu Zhen Feng boards the bus to the borders while his best friend Chen Yu chases after him relentlessly. Along the journey, the two were almost kidnapped. While saving his best friend Chen Yu, Wu Zhen Feng was brought away by the drug traffickers, and there has been no news of him ever since. When the two meet again, Chen Yu becomes a narcotics policeman while Wu Zhen Feng is now a famed murder suspect known by the nickname "Addict Lord". Ignoring public dissension, Chen Yu sets out to find the truth and clear Wu Zhenfeng's name, but he gradually discovers that Wu Zhen Feng's return has another purpose. The two best friends begin a game of cat and mouse.
