Mikoto Ochiai is a female high school student, she gets high grades and is a model student, but her mental health state has lead her to be suicidal. As she attempts to jump from her school's roof a teacher called Jin Haiba stops her. Jin Haiba is an irresponsible teacher who is addicted to gambling and is being looked down on by his students and colleagues. When she explains why she's jumping he suddenly asks her to be in a romantic relationship with him before she dies. When he saves her from a river, she begins to wonder if the proposal was actually heartfelt.
